Commissioner of Social Security, Michael J. Astrue, recently announced the top baby names in the USA for 2006. Based on more than 4.2 million Social Security applications for children born last year, parents have picked Emily and Jacob as the most popular baby names for the eighth year in a row.

The top 10 boys and girls names for 2006 are:
Boys : Jacob, Michael, Joshua, Ethan, Matthew, Daniel, Christopher, Andrew, Anthony, and William.
Girls : Emily, Emma, Madison, Isabella, Ava, Abigail, Olivia, Hannah, Sophia, and Samantha.
